The  Bobby Crim Festival of Races is held in Flint each August to  raise money for  Michigan Special Olympics. It has been my privilege to participate in several Bobby Crim events.

                                       Detroit Public Schools

Among my most enjoyable volunteer activities have been speaking at Detroit Public Schools on career days, and as a Team Leader in the MELL Program, a Substance Abuse Education Program sponsored by the Mayor of Detroit. I am extremely proud of the Certificates of Appreciation which hang in my office for participating in these programs.

                                      The Ben Bernstein Fund

The Ben Bernstein Fund was established in memory of my father's cousin, a founding member of  Alpha Epsilon Pi at Michigan State University in the late 1920's. Through the Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation, this fund annually provides a Friday night (Shabbat) dinner for Jewish students and faculty, at the Lester Morris Jewish Student Center in East Lansing.

In October, 2005, a plaque was presented to the Jewish Student Center in memory of Michael Henry Schwerner, hero of the American civil rights movement, who joined the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity at Michigan State in 1958. The event attracted approximately 250 guests.
