Among my most enjoyable volunteer activities has been speaking at Detroit Public Schools on career days, and as a Team Leader in the MELL Program, a Substance Abuse Education Program sponsored by the Mayor of Detroit. I am extremely proud of the Certificates of Appreciation which hang in my office for participating in these programs. I graduated from Mumford High School, pictured above, Class of June, 1965.
The Bobby Crim Festival of Races is held in Flint each August to raise money for Michigan Special Olympics. It has been my privilege to participate in several Bobby Crim events, most recently in August, 2009. For more information see:www.crim.org
In 2007, I was appointed by the City Council to a 3 year term on the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Zoning Ordinance sets the land use and property rights regulations for the city, and the ZBA adjudicates applications from property owners for variances.
